We have an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in identifying the annual Under 9`s intake and help creating a safe, fun, authentic and child friendly experience which ensures that every participant in the Pre-Academy gains valuable experience.
What will you be doing?
- Develop relationships with grassroots clubs, leagues, community groups and schoolboy teams across Merseyside to support the identification of high potential players.
- Communicate clearly with parents and children, ensuring that expectations of the process are realistic, through relationship management and quality feedback.
- Coordinate the weekly scouting schedule and oversee the coverage of grassroots football in Merseyside with the aim of ensuring that LFC has knowledge of all the high potential players who will join a professional club at under 9.
- Ensure all information relating to potential signings is logged on the PMA and shared with the Grassroots Scouting Coordinator at the end of each season.
- Undertake grassroots scouting to support the Pre-Academy Recruitment strategy under the direction of the Head of Pre-Academy Recruitment.
- Coordinate the monitoring of high potential players and ensure that these players receive an invitation to attend the Pre-Academy at the earliest convenience.
- Ensure that all players, parents, clubs etc have a positive experience that reflect the values and ethos of Liverpool FC whenever they visit the Academy.
- Manage the invitations of grassroots teams to play fixtures against our Pre-Academy teams.
- Play a key role in assessing the players in the pre-academy and support the decision-making process with other key stakeholders.
- Play an active role in supporting players and parents as they join the club and when they transition out of the pre academy.
- Manage the PMA as the `super user` for the pre-academy to ensure that all information is up to date. This includes maintaining accurate records of our scouting coverage for audit purposes.
- Manage the pre-academy kit order and stock on a yearly basis. This includes the distribution of player and Scouts kit.
- Collate and process all pre-academy Scouts expenses for approval by the Head of Pre Academy Recruitment.
- Have knowledge of the recruitment philosophy, policies, protocols and procedures in line with the Academy and EPPP requirements.
- Any other duties as requested by the Head of Pre Academy Recruitment or Head of Senior Academy Recruitment.
- Abide by the FA & LFC Safeguarding rules and regulations working with young children.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by seeking and suggesting improvements and actively seeking opportunities to develop through CPD and collaborating with colleagues across the wider recruitment team.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a candidate with 5 + years` experience, gained working in a role within either Association Football or Schoolboy Football organisations based in the Liverpool region or in scouting capacity at a professional club. With excellent organisation and communication skills.
We also look for very strong ICT skills with experience of using Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc to expert level; An understanding of video analysis and video editing with some experience in utilising Hudl, Sportscode, Veo or other sports video platforms would be advantageous.
