The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage the identification, assessment, and recommendation of U9-U13 players in the NY Metro territory for the New York City FC Academy. In addition, candidate must maintain and grow a network within the market that will produce best practices and outcomes for player recruitment. The individual will also be responsible for helping develop and implement scouting strategy in specific age groups.
- Â Management of Talent ID to ensure optimal scouting coverage of the New York Metropolitan area
- Live scouting of local matches
- Management of regional youth scouts
- Building player reporting and scouting information databases for relevant players and clubs
- Management of scouting depth charts at U9-U13 level
- Completion of Scouting Talent Profiles for target players
- Internal management of trialist process including on-site responsibilities at training sessions
- External communication with clubs and families of trialists and recruits
- Regular communication with clubs to optimize recruitment best practices and grow our reputation within the market
- Regular communication with Youth Programs including covering selected YP events to ensure Talent ID synergies
- Promote a positive market identity of New York City FC, City Football Group with players, parents, local clubs and all other stakeholders within youth soccer in New York
- Planning and execution of ‘Talent ID sessions’
- Compliance with Club policies and Club’s health and safety procedures
- Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected
- Maintain professional conduct at all times

- Previous direct experience in any of the following Pro/Academy level areas of expertise:
- Club scouting and recruitment
- Club caching
- Pro/Academy director
- Pro/Academy administration
- Professional/Collegiate playing experience
- Experiencing utilizing Microsoft Suite
- Data Management Proficiency
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
- Ability to travel for business purposes
- Must be able to work games scheduled which may be at night and on weekends and holidays
