National Governing Body
The purpose and goals of the FAI as the national governing body of football in the Republic of Ireland is to promote, foster and develop football across a diverse range of activities and programmes whilst delivering on our strategic plan. Our ambition is to ensure we maintain a clear focus on continuous improvement to the benefit of all key strands of the game.
The FAI’s Strategic Plan has nine specific areas of focus, the plan sets out our goals for delivering and improving each specific area including Players, Clubs and Leagues, Facilities, International Teams, Organisation, Grassroots and Community Programmes, Women’s Game and our National League.
High Performance Team
The High Performance Team within the Association is at the Elite level across the core measures of success and are within the overall principles of the game management process.
We have eight core areas of competency which are underpinned by the Associations values along with shared values of professionalism and accountability. These are Coaching, Design & Delivery, Development, People Management, Strategy, External Pressures, Self-Development and the FAI Values. We encourage a positive, inclusive and cohesive environment through the development stages of the player-focused philosophy at all levels of football.
Women’s International Team Head Coach
Over the past number of years there has been significant progress in the development of the women’s game, numbers have grown at club and league level, more elite programmes running nationwide, qualification and successes at Underage International Level and improved performance and results at Senior Women’s International Level.
The Women’s International Team Head Coach is an important leadership role within the Association. The role is based at the Association’s headquarters in Abbotstown, Dublin 15.
The position of Head Coach is key to the ongoing development of our elite International players and will play a significant role in the education of elite coaches.
The main objectives of this role for the Association are as follows:u202f
– To qualify for UEFAu202f& FIFA Finals.
– To improve Ireland’s position in the current UEFA & FIFA ranking.
– You will be an established role model for the game with a successful track record in football across education, high performance, promotion, marketing and communication, organisation and infrastructure.
– Support the Head of Women’s Football with the promotion and delivery of the pillars outlined in the FAI Strategic Plan.
– To create and nurture a strong linkage with all FAI International teams.
– To continue to develop and nurture a pool of elite players to facilitate current and future success.
