Recruitment Analyst – Manchester United

An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Recruitment Analyst within the scouting and recruitment department of Manchester United Football Club. Whilst contributing to an existing performance analysis service this position will specifically involve the acquisition, processing and feedback of relevant player performance data.

Applicants for this position should be in possession of a sport science honours degree (minimum 2:1) or equivalent, preferably a master’s level qualification and have completed specific performance analysis training. An understanding of the technical and tactical demands of professional football is essential together with experience in using performance analysis systems and software. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience using the creative cloud suite products (After Effects, Photoshop, Premier Pro).

Alongside formal training applicants must be able to work conscientiously and with total discretion. Ability to work as an individual as well as a contributory team player is a vital requirement of this position.

Due to site location and limited public transport, a driver’s license and access to personal transport is required.

Job Description

Purpose

To contribute to the continued expansion and development of the recruitment analysis team at Manchester United Football club, with the specific purpose of identifying players who demonstrate the potential to play for the first team.

Key Responsibilities

To contribute toward the administration and delivery of a comprehensive performance analysis service.

To code and analyse the playing performance of potential scouting targets in specific countries and regions.

To rigorously generate quantitative and qualitative data that supports decision making in the identification of players with the potential to play for MUFC.

To work with the recruitment analysis team to collate and analyse MUFC specific technical, tactical and physical benchmarks.

To contribute to ongoing research that supports the continuous strive toward implementing best practice performance analysis methodologies.

Experience

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

A B.Sc. (Hons) degree in sports science with a minimum 2:1 classification (essential).

A Masters level qualification in sport science.

Relevant vocational qualifications and experience that provide an understanding of the technical and tactical demands of Professional football (essential).

Formal training in research methods (essential).

Experience of working in a professional football club.

Expertise in the analysis of professional football players.

Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work with total discretion.

Experience in using performance analysis systems and software.

Experience of using the creative cloud suite of products (After Effects, Photoshop, Premier Pro).

Be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft office or similar packages.

Ability to work on own initiative, unsupervised and as an effective team member.

The ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner and practical approach to problem solving.

A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role.

Full driving license.

A commitment to driving forwards continuous improvement in their working environment.

Sound personal qualities such as communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, self-motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure. They should exhibit pride in performance and possess high standards in the provision of service to Manchester United’s customers and internal users.

Safeguarding
Ensure compliance with the company’s safeguarding policy by completing the DBS process for work in a regulatory activity or at a regulatory environment.

Hours of Work

Working hours are based on 40 per week however the employee will be required to work such times and such periods as are necessary for the proper fulfilment of their duties according to the operational requirements of the department or demands of the business.
