YOUTH FOOTBALL COACH

KEY TASKS

•  To develop young players, based on the principles of the Benfica methodology, on an integral development (personal and sporting) and on Benfica’s Mystique;
• To optimize the development of players, so that they continue their training and achieve their potential and talent, becoming able to play at the highest competitive level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  To develop, motivate and coach young players and their teams;
• To deal and guide children/young adults, respecting their growth and maturity states, in regards to the proposed age group;
• In a multi-disciplinary dynamic, create, implement and keep updated the ‘Individual Development Plans’ of each player;
• To execute the required organization and planning tasks;
• To ensure cohesion, conflict resolution and the management of the different members of the team (players, staff, etc);
• To cooperate with the different stakeholders of the Football Department;
• To participate and support the talent ID and talent management processes, through the regular performance and potential evaluations;
• To cooperate and show availability to transmit information to the players’ parents/guardians.

EXPERIENCE

•  Diversified experience of at least 3 years in training, in the environment of Youth Football/ Club;
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in team management (desirable)
• Recognized curriculum in player development

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED

• UEFA A License or similar (desirable)
• Degree or Master’s Degree in Sports Training (desirable)
• Basic knowledge of Sports Science.
• Football knowledge at tactical, physical and youth development levels
• Computer skills
• Video editing knowledge (desirable)
• Languages: Portuguese and/or English
